A life lived well is one that is Holistic, one that is true to who we are in every area of life.

From what we eat, to what we do for a living, each and every decision we make on a daily basis. So how do we become more intentional about how we live?

  • Know what you want

Having a vision for the life you want is the key to starting well. So often we live our lives around what we think we want, or what others expect from us rather that what we truly want for ourselves. To live well means to be true to the fingerprint that is yours and yours alone.

So start by knowing what it is you want – for your health, for your career, for your love life.

Take the time to actively forget what the world prescribes is a “good life” in order to decide for yourself. Learn to listen again to the voices that are guiding you because there is no one-size-fits-all approach to a life well lived.

Dedicate one afternoon a month to reflecting on what you want out of life (big picture) as well as where you are along that journey (today). And notice how your day-to-day decisions will begin to reflect more of the life you want to create as you practice becoming more intentional about living well.


  • Pursue LIFE with Fearless abandon

We often make decisions not because they are what we really want, but out of convenience. We end up in survival mode just getting through the day / week, rather than pursing LIFE – the things we really want. Why? Because of risk. Because of FEAR. We fear letting go of the things we know. We fear losing what we already have for the pursuit of “more”. We fear dropping the ball and it not working out.

But a life lived out of fear isn’t a life lived at all.

So, instead of nudging along through life – why don’t we leap with more abandon. It doesn’t have to be a big huge risk, or jumping out of a plane – but it could be that conversation you’ve been putting off for a while.

A life lived well is one that is LIVED – not just “survived”. Let’s thrive by slowly but surely – letting go of the barriers that keep us from the very life we want.


  • Surrender to the process.

Control – Oh how we LOVE Control. And yet, the Magic happens in the surrender!
So often the things we want don’t seem to show up or work for us. That extra little bit of weight we’d like to lose, or that place we’ve been trying to get to with our work. When things don’t work out the way we want, the way we expect – it often leads us down a different path.

BUT – the dots do connect.

You can’t connect the dots going forward;

You can only connect them looking backwards.

So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

Living well and finding contentedness today, not just in our “tomorrow” starts by surrendering to where we are now and the gifts that are showing up, even when we don’t recognise them.


So – set your compass, do the work, make the time, show up – But then surrender how the things you want are going to show up in your life.

Because they will. We just sometimes struggle to recognise them 😉
